Love Letter # 4 - Weekend highlight...

Dear Fashion,

The highlight of my weekend was styling another photo shoot. I also had the privilege 2 put my Make Up Artist skills 2 the test at the last minute without my my brushes or make up...lol. I felt like McGuyver making it work with what was available. I have 2 say that it came out pretty well. I use 2 do make up before in the past & I always practice on myself & always get compliments on my work, so I think I am going 2 add this add another notch on my belt & become a triple threat stylist. Erica B.-Designer, Stylist, MUA...Sounds nice. I had the pleasure again 2 work with Photographer, Abraham LaFleur again & for the first time with Model, Jeuly Cuevas. It was  also a privileged 2 also share the shoot with one of my BFF's April Lynn, who officially made her debut as a stylist on this day. I truly believe in helping out & building up one another. Check out & follow her blog as well: woreit.blogspot.com. I also designed & printed up some business cards printed up quickly 2 have available until I figure out my logo & develop my website. I am so happy & grateful that I am receiving a lot of wonderful feedback and referrals. Everything is moving along smoothly, it's insane. I wish I started doing this earlier in my life rather than have gone though all the bull. But I only appreciate what I've went through more now because it not only built up my tolerance & character, but it helped me 2 be more appreciative, 2 see clearly what I want & won't tolerate in my life anymore. Check out the photos below & also check out & like my Facebook Stylist page @, www.facebook.com/EricaBStylist. Follow me on Twitter @, www.twitter.com/#!/Twenty47DIVA. Request me on Model Mayhem, MM #2464104. Until next time...

Love Letter # 3 - Feeling the Love

Dear Fashion,

I had my 2nd photo shoot on November, 13th. & besides the fact that my 2 assigned models not showing up, it went exceptionally well. I love how I am regaining my confidence & grasping the concepts very well. I guess it pays off 2 be detailed oriented. This time around & hopefully not the last, I got 2 share my shoot with Tiffany Ekuwa. She is the stylist who helped answered the majority of my questions when I was considering this new career shift. Also, I was very excited as always 2 be working with, Dassie Dash, MUA & hair stylist &  Abraham LaFleur, the photographer. I also had the privileged 2 launch my Erica B. Stylist FACEBOOK FAN PAGE. I am very excited 2 get a lot of positive feedback & support from my family & friends. I'm definitely feeling the love.

DivaStyle ICON-Miss Piggy-licous

Being such a HUGE Muppets fan and with all the press that is surrounding the soon to be released "The Muppets" Movie n November 23rd starring Jason Segal and Amy Adams, I chose Miss Piggy as my DIVA STYLE ICON this week because is a plus size DIVA who is very inspirational. Matter of fact, she kind of reminds me of myself. Most of all she has an amazing fashion sense. She make being a pig look very sexy with her impeccable style. Miss Piggy is not only known for her style but, she doesn't take crap from anyone, and doesn't let anyone come in between her and her man/frog "Kermie". Since her debut 1976, she has accomplished  a great deal as far as gracing the covers and being featured in a host of accredited magazines like People, Maxim, Life, and Woman and being on talk shows like The View. She also has out a nail polish line with OPI which is everywhere. I even went to go see my nephew at Downstate Hospital and there it was in the gift shop. She is  a "BOSS". To top it off she has a featured line at MAC cosmetics and a Facebook page. Any pig who is seen rocking Marc Jacobs and Burberry is cool in my books. If you don't believe me just check out her Wiki page! I cant wait to see what she will unveil next. MOI!

Oh Jenny...

As I mention briefly in an earlier post, I had joined Jenny Craig a couple of weeks ago. Tomorrow starts my 3rd week on the program. I lost 2 1/2 lbs my first week on it and today when I weighed in I didn't lose or gain, still not bad. To me this program is a "no brainer" because the food is provided for you which I LOVE but, they are portion controlled meals. Dont get me wrong, 98% of the food is delicious but, I'm HUNGRY. It's actually harder to focus than I thought and not OD on food because if you know me, I loves to eat. Even the snacks are cute, tiny and takes two bites to consume. But I realized that the trick is to nibble like its your last meal. I just need to focus harder because:
1. It's a little costly but it evens out when you like to eat out all the time
2. I'm tired of  my what I look/feel like with my weight, tired of having no control, and
3. I get my full membership $ back if reach my goal weight after a year of starting the program (or something along those lines)...BOOYAH!!!

On a serious tip, I have tried everything or a lot of different things except lipo. Now, please understand that I'm not trying to be a skinny chick (no offense to skinny chicks). I love my thickness but I just want and need  to get rid of the extra baggage I am carrying on my poor little size 6 feet and stop feeling uncomfortable in my own skin. It's not cute when you burn holes in the inner thigh area of your jeans and have muffin tops even though I try to keep it tight with a girdle. Apparently the older I have gotten, the less active I have become other than raising my hand to put food in my mouth. Although my weight can sometimes be a sensitive topic, I am gonna put myself on BLAST because this situation is on the list of me finding and maintaining my happy. My current weight is in the 160's...and my goal is to lose at least 30 lbs. I am supposed to lose 2lbs a week. So I decide to keep you posted on my journey to healthier looking me and also post pics of the transformation along the way. Maybe this will help give me incentive to shed the lbs.
Being extra thick never stopped me from dressing my butt off. It just became a challenge for me to still be and look like a diva which I think I accomplished very nicely. If I was taller I wouldn't mind the weight but I just want to drop a couple of sizes, have a flatter stomach, toner forearms and thighs so I can wear shorts and sleeveless shirts comfortably. Is that too much to ask for??? I am determined to make this program work because I did invest a pretty little penny in it with my unemployed self and I usually give up on it easily, especially if there isn't any rapid results. I want this time to be different. Well, wish me well!

Smoochez,
 E.
